  • September 2006 – Special Achievement Award presented by the Indo Canada Ottawa Business Chamber (ICOBC) in recognition of Deepak Obhrai’s contributions to the Indo-Canadian community and the commitment towards strengthening political, cultural and economic relations between Canada and South Asia.
 
  • October 2006 – The National Indo-Canadian Council of Montreal presented Deepak Obhrai with an award for meritorious services to the Indo-Canadian Community and to Canada.
 
  • November 2006 – Desi News-Grants Community Achievers Award, given by Desi News of Toronto, a popular South-Asian e-magazine with a large readership across Canada, presented by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.
 
  • November 2006 – Daly College in Indore, India, Deepak Obhrai’s former school, awarded its prestigious Padma Shri RN Zutshi Medal to him for outstanding achievement by an Old Dalian.
 
  • June 2008 – Deepak Obhrai is featured in a Alberta Grade 9 Social Studies textbook titled “Issues for Canadians,” published by Nelson Education.
 
  • September 2008 – Deepak Obhrai named as one of 35 most influential Indo-Canadians in Canada, profiled in the book The Power List published by the India Abroad newspaper.
 
  • January 2009 – Deepak Obhrai is presented with the prestigious “Pravasi Bharatiya Samman” the highest honour given to overseas Indians, which was conferred the President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

  • September 2013 – Prime Minister appoints Deepak Obhrai to the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada.
 
  • April 28, 2014 – The Hill Times newspaper’s Power & Influence magazine names Deepak Obhrai as the 18th most influential person among the Top 100 influencers of Canada’s global future.
 
  • May 30, 2014 – Tanzanian President H.E. Jaykaya Kikwete confers Deepak Obhrai with an honorarium as the first Honorary Member of the Canada-Tanzania Business Council, in Toronto.
 
  • June 25, 2014 The Embassy newspaper, in its “Savvy Diplomat” survey, lists Deepak Obhrai as the 3rd Hardest Working Canadian Parliamentarian on Foreign Policy and also as the 3rd Most Well-connected Parliamentarian to the diplomatic scene.
 
  • September 22, 2014 -Indo-American Friends Group of Washington DC awards Deepak Obhrai the Pride of India Award  for his contributions towards strengthening Canada’s political, social and cultural relations with India and increasing Indian diaspora participation in pluralistic political activity.
 
  • November 19, 2014 – The Sri Chinmoy Peace Foundation of Ottawa awards Deepak Obhrai the Peace Dreamer award for a life of service to Canada.
 
  • January 10, 2015 – Vision World organization of Ahmedabad, India, confers the Global Visionary Award to Deepak Obhrai for his contributions to parliamentary democracy and strengthening of Indo-Canadian bilateral relations.
 
  • May 03, 2015 – Vietnamese Canadian Federation presents Deepak with the VCF Award 2015, in recognition of his dedication to the Vietnamese Canadian Community, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the journey to freedom of Vietnamese Canadians.
 
  • June 3, 2015 – Universities Canada, an organization representing Canada’s 97 universities, awards Deepak with a Certificate of Special Recognition in appreciation of his service and support for Canada’s higher education, research and innovation.
 
  • November 4, 2017 – New Hope Senior Citizens of Brampton, Ontario presents Award of Recognition to Deepak for commitment and service as a leader of the community.
 
  • November 4, 2017 – Hindu Heritage Month Committee 2017, headed by the Vishnu Mandir of Richmond Hill, Ontario, honors Deepak as the longest-serving Hindu in the Canadian Parliament and for launching the National Diwali Celebration on Parliament Hill.
 
  • May 24, 2018 – Indo-Canadian Harmony Forum presents Deepak with an Award of Recognition for his contributions to the Harmony Forum’s vision of strengthening and promoting communal harmony amongst Canada’s wide and diverse Indian community.
 
  • May 18, 2019 – Calgary Forest Lawn Branch 275 Legion awards the Royal Canadian Legion 90th Anniversary Medal to Deepak, in recognition of his years of service to the Branch and its members, at an honors ceremony in Calgary.
 
  • June 09, 2019 – Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) awards its prestigious 2019 President’s Award of the Year to Deepak for his contributions towards facilitating trade and commerce and building trade relationships between Canada and India.
 
  • July 19, 2019 – Deepak is awarded the prestigious Bharat Gaurav Award at a ceremony in the British Parliament, in recognition of his lifelong role in promoting Indian culture and civilization globally and for being an inspiration for others to excel in their chosen field.
