Services for Seniors There are many government services to help enrich and enlighten the lives of our elders. All Canadians deserve the highest quality of life possible, and seniors are no exception. This site is to help seniors plan for retirement, stay healthy, live in safety and security, and be as active as possible. For more information on services for seniors, please visit the Government of Canada's website.
Old Age Security The Old Age Security program, the cornerstone of Canada's retirement income system, provides you with a modest pension at age 65 if you have lived in Canada for at least 10 years. If you are a low-income senior, you may be eligible for other benefits as early as age 60. For more information, please visit our link Income Securities Program.
Birthday and Anniversary Congratulatory Messages Are your parents celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this year? Are you planning a party for your grandmother on her 90th birthday? If so, you might want to request a congratulatory message from the Governor General. These messages are sent to Canadians celebrating 90th birthdays and up, and to Canadian couples celebrating 50th wedding anniversaries and up. To request your certificates visit our Certificates page.
Post-Retirement Taxation Your tax situation after retirement will probably change. For more information on the changes to your taxes such as such as Guaranteed Income Supplement, Allowance, or Allowance for the Survivor, please visit the Government of Canada's website.
